Started in Cardiff in 2014, Herbivore is a small business dedicated to providing delicious, creative and unique vegetarian and vegan food from the best quality local ingredients.
Beginning with one-off supper clubs at the best of the independent restaurants, cafes and other venues around the city and beyond, Herbivore took up a weekend residency at the Embassy Cafe in Cathays with a weekly changing, innovative menu. Following that Herbivore was resident at the sadly missed Eartha on City Rd.
Since July of 2022 Herbivore is without a permanent home but continues to team up with some of the best independents in South Wales, working as a guest chef, creating restaurant pop ups in unusual spaces and catering for private events.
Supper Clubs are flagship events for Herbivore. Each has a multi-course, vegan menu, making the best of what’s in season. Every one is different and we like to think you won’t find anything else like it in the area. It’s a moveable feast so expect to find them at some South Wales’ best independent venues and beyond. Here’s what’s coming up:
Following a wonderful month serving up vegan small plates at the Neighbourhood we’ll be back to our usual 6 course extravanganzas at Bacareto in the centre of Cardiff.
In Feb we’ll be there on the 26th, 27th and 28th – see the Current Menus section for more details – and then in March I’m teaming up with the artrtist Jenny Cashmore to create a menu based around ther equinox. We’ll be thinking about light and dark, balance, half & half and much more. This will be served on 26th, 27th and 28th March.Bookings can be made by emailing hello@bacareto.co.uk
On the 14th and 15th March you can find us at Mec on Crwys Rd Cardiff where we will have a short menu of small plates on offer to compliment their delicous selection of natural wines. Email simon@theherbviore to book a place.
