Started in Cardiff in 2014, Herbivore is a small business dedicated to providing delicious, creative and unique vegetarian and vegan food from the best quality local ingredients.
Beginning with one-off supper clubs at the best of the independent restaurants, cafes and other venues around the city and beyond, Herbivore took up a weekend residency at the Embassy Cafe in Cathays with a weekly changing, innovative menu. Following that Herbivore was resident at the sadly missed Eartha on City Rd.
Since July of 2022 Herbivore is without a permanent home but continues to team up with some of the best independents in South Wales, working as a guest chef, creating restaurant pop ups in unusual spaces and catering for private events.
January is always a busy time for Herbivore. This year, instead of doing my usual Veganuary residency in one venue, I’m taking off on a world tour. Well, if you consider Cardiff to be the world.
First up is the lovey Scaredy Cats on Thursday 15th and Friday 16th Jan with a set menu of sharing plates. Menu here.

The end of the month sees us completing the holy trinity of venues with four nights of a small plates menu at Bacareto back in Cardiff city centre. Creative, seasonal vegetable cooking with the trace of an Italian accent. Monday 26th to Thursday 29th Jan. Book here. Menu coming soon.
