Started in Cardiff in 2014, Herbivore is a small business dedicated to providing delicious, creative and unique vegetarian and vegan food from the best quality local ingredients.
Beginning with one-off supper clubs at the best of the independent restaurants, cafes and other venues around the city and beyond, Herbivore took up a weekend residency at the Embassy Cafe in Cathays with a weekly changing, innovative menu. Following that Herbivore was resident at the sadly missed Eartha on City Rd.
Since July of 2022 Herbivore is without a permanent home but continues to team up with some of the best independents in South Wales, working as a guest chef, creating restaurant pop ups in unusual spaces and catering for private events.
Summer time and the writing of menus is easy with so much amazing produce coming through. There’s a few chances to catch Herbivore in action over the summer months.
From Monday July 21st to Thursday 24th we’ll be at Bacareto with a menu of seasonal small plates. Food served from 5pm and bookings here.
On August 4th we’ll be teaming up once more with Nia at Spit & Sawdust for a special one off set menu to celebrate the pagan festival of Lamas. Expect hyper seasonal and local delicousness, blazing fires and a magical atmosphere. More info and bookings here.
On Monday August 11th I’ll be at Matsudai Ramen in Grangetown, Cardiff with a one off set menu of new dishes with a diastinctive lean towards Japan, or at least the version of it in my mind. More info and booking details on that one coming soon.
