Started in Cardiff in 2014, Herbivore is a small business dedicated to providing delicious, creative and unique vegetarian and vegan food from the best quality local ingredients.
Beginning with one-off supper clubs at the best of the independent restaurants, cafes and other venues around the city and beyond, Herbivore took up a weekend residency at the Embassy Cafe in Cathays with a weekly changing, innovative menu. Following that Herbivore was resident at the sadly missed Eartha on City Rd.
Since July of 2022 Herbivore is without a permanent home but continues to team up with some of the best independents in South Wales, working as a guest chef, creating restaurant pop ups in unusual spaces and catering for private events.
At the end of November I’ll be back in the lovely Bacareto in the heart of Cardiff with an a la carte menu of small plates to share. We’ll be serving from 5 unitl 9pm on Tuesday 25th through to Friday 28th. All vegan of course.
Just over a week later on Monday 8th December I’ll be teaming up again with Nia at Spit & Sawdust to make a midwinter feast. Not sure exactly what format that’s going to take but it’ll be a set menu and the closest thing to a Christmas dinner that you’ll get from me.
After that, next stop is Veganuary. How I hate that word. Look out for details of venues and menus coming soon.
